"Down to Earth Country Wisdom"
as shared by a Farmer from
North Dakota.

Let's all try to equate these "proverbs" with Bible verses. Several Scriptures have already been added to get you started. As you think of some appropriate verses please send them to this address and they will be added to the list.

Country Wisdom Bible verse
1. Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong Eph 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
2. Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.  
3. A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.  
4. Words that soak into your ears are whispered....not yelled.  
5. Meanness don't jes' happen overnight.  
6. Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads. Ro 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
7. Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.  
8. It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge.  
9. You cannot unsay a cruel word.  
10 Every path has a few puddles.  
11. When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty  
12. The best sermons are lived, not preached. Jas 3:13  Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
13. Most of the stuff people worry about ain't never
gonna happen anyway.
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication...
14. Don't judge folks by their relatives.  
15. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.  
16. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time.  
17. Don't interfere with somethin' that ain't botherin' you none. Pr 26:17  He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
18. Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.  
19. If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.  
20. Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.  
21. The biggest troublemaker, you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin'.  
22. Always drink upstream from the herd.  
23. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.  
24. Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back in.  
25. If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.  
26. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Mic 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
   
...and come to church this Sunday, and worship with the brethern, and leave the rest to God.
